1. Introduction

Interprime Law Practice ("Interprime", "the firm", "we", "us" or "our") is a law firm with its office at 10 Ibikunle Street, off Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who interacts with us, whether through this website, by email or telephone, or in the course of receiving our legal services. This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you. This Notice is issued in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), which is administered by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), together with any subordinate regulations or guidance made under it. Where we decide why and how personal information is processed, we act as a data controller.

2. Scope

This Notice applies to personal information we collect through www.interprimelp.com (the "website") and through enquiries, consultation bookings, voice notes and other communications connected with it. Information you give us in the course of a retained legal engagement is also governed by our duty of confidentiality and by legal professional privilege, as explained in section 6. Please do not send sensitive details of your matter through the website until an engagement and the appropriate confidentiality arrangements are in place.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Identity and contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number and the organisation you represent.
• Enquiry information, such as the practice area you select, the details of your matter, and any message, document or voice note you submit.
• Booking information, such as your chosen consultation format, date and time.
• Technical information, such as your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, device information and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 9).

4. How we collect your information

We collect personal information:

• Directly from you, when you complete the contact form, book a consultation, submit a voice note, or contact us by email, telephone or in person.
• Automatically, through cookies and analytics tools when you use the website.
• From third parties, where relevant and lawful, such as referees, regulators, courts, or publicly available sources, in connection with a matter or with our verification and compliance obligations.

5. Why we use your information and our lawful bases

We use personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry and communicate with you;
• arrange and conduct consultations;
• provide and administer legal services;
• carry out conflict-of-interest checks and client due diligence;
• comply with our legal, regulatory and professional obligations; and
• keep proper records and manage our practice.

Under the NDPA, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases: your consent; the performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; the protection of vital interests; and our legitimate interests in operating and promoting the firm, where these are not overridden by your rights.

6. Legal professional privilege and confidentiality

Information you share with us in the course of seeking or receiving legal advice is, in addition to data protection, protected by legal professional privilege and by the duty of confidentiality owed by legal practitioners under the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners 2023 (RPC 2023). These protections are separate from, and additional to, your rights under data protection law. Where a request under this Notice would require us to disclose privileged or confidential information, or would conflict with a legal or regulatory obligation, we may decline or limit the request to the extent the law permits.

7. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it:

• with partners and staff of the firm, on a need-to-know basis;
• with service providers who process information on our behalf, such as our website host and our scheduling and communication tools, under contracts that require them to protect your information;
• with courts, regulators or other parties where this is necessary to provide our services or to comply with the law; and
• with your consent, or at your direction.

8. Cross-border transfers

Some of the service providers we use may store or process information outside Nigeria. Where personal information is transferred outside Nigeria, we take steps consistent with the NDPA to ensure an adequate level of protection applies, whether through the recipient country's data protection regime, contractual safeguards, or your informed consent.

The website may use cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies allow the site to function. Analytics cookies, where used, help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. 10. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Notice, including to provide our services, to maintain proper records, and to meet legal, regulatory, limitation-period and professional requirements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any breach in line with our obligations under the NDPA.

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the NDPA, you have the right to:

• request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected;
• request deletion of your information in certain circumstances;
• request that we restrict or object to certain processing;
• request portability of information you provided to us, where applicable;
• withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting earlier processing; and
• lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Some of these rights are limited where information is subject to legal professional privilege, confidentiality, or a retention obligation. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in section 16.

13. Children

Our services and this website are directed at adults and at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

14. Third-party links

The website may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their own privacy notices.

This Cookie Notice explains how Interprime Law Practice ("Interprime", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.interprimelp.com (the "website"). It should be read together with our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.

Maps. We use an online mapping provider so that you can find our office. That provider may set cookies to deliver and improve its mapping service.

Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for it through the cookie banner on the website before such cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
